This imposing decorative full size 12ft x 6ft mahogany Billiard - Snooker table is made from Cuban Mahogany and features tasteful carved sections to the frame, legs and cushion friezes.
The table was made by John Thurston in 1894 for a client in Guildford Surrey, no expense was spared on the timber, construction or build, we have a copy of the original invoice which states the design is Louis XVI style.
Each carved leg is fitted with an ornate panel which is replicated on the cushion edges in the form a smaller carved boss while an egg and dart bead runs along the top and bottom.
The mahogany cushions are a special order called "The Adamant cushion", in order to attain optimal playing conditions a slate section has been inserted into the inside edge of each cushion, this makes the cushion extremely sturdy and the ball response is improved.
This is a tremendous table ,the side and end frames are embellished with shells and swags the carving is exceptionally high quality.
