There are simply too many superlatives to choose from to describe this Gillows Billiard table, the elegant scalloped tapering legs, the delicate curve to the cushion edges, the sublime shaped molding that runs around the base of the frame and then flows effortlessly into the the top of the leg,the rectangular fitted panels that conceal the frame bolts. Everything about this table oozes style and confidence in design, only the finest Honduran mahogany was used,the sub-frame (the bit that you cannot see)is solid English oak, it is as crisp as the day it was made.We have re-rubbered the cushions with NR professional rubbers and fitted a new "Strachan" traditional English green cloth to the bed and cushions.
The table is fitted with its original Gillow's tablet and unique reference number, the table has been dated to 1835 by the Westminster City Council who have access to Gillows original sketch books.A scan from the sketch book of 1830 - 1835 illustrates a near identical table.
