This exceptional lamp is one of the finest we have seen and
was almost certainly commissioned for a county house of repute.
Manufactured circa 1910 the frame is constructed of brass and steel
which has been silver-plated, this has tarnished over the years
and retains a wonderful patina.
The shades are aluminum and are original to the lamp, they have
a beautiful hammered handmade texture and a base diameter
of 22 inches (55.88 centimeters), they must have been considered
very experimental at the time of manufacture.
